Eternal Flames

The boys and I set off one day on an adventure hike to find the Eternal Flame Falls. While I was googling things to do in the area, I stumbled across this hike. The eternal flame is actually natural gas, seeping up from a fissure in the rock under a small waterfall.

There were small, blue rectangles nailed to trees every so often marking the path to lead you to the falls and the eternal flame. The trail head markers were a project from a local boy scout group!
It is approximately a mile and a half to the eternal flame and back. It's a pretty easy hike going through the woods, over small creeks, and rocks.
The kids on a "break"...lol...but it looks like they were posing for this picture!
Voila! Here it is...the flame under the small waterfall.
It was actually pretty cool to see:-)
This fallen tree had names tagged all over it. So, of course, I had to tag Elijah and Noah on it!
This turned out to be a very fun and cool adventure for us!

Shuffling Off to Buffalo

After all of Tim's interviews and the matching process, we found out that Tim's fellowship in Surgical Oncology would ultimately be taking place in Buffalo, NY. We would be moving from our cozy little beach apartment on the island of the beautiful Okinawa, Japan back to the states to Western New York. Our first thoughts??? Ohmygosh there is going to be so much snow!! We set off to accomplish our Oki Bucket List, threw the deuces up, and then shuffled off to Buffalo!!!

Tim at work: Roswell Park Cancer Institute
Tim still at work at home!!
Although we miss The Garlic House, Dragon's and Uroko, we have found a new favorite restaurant: Duff's Famous Wings. Noah got a caricature drawn this time we went:-)

We see a lot of animals in our yard: chipmunks, squirrels, deer, birds, and SNAKES!!
