Lil' Wayne Concert

Savannah was dying to go to the Lil Wayne concert at the VA Beach Amphitheater, so I took her. At first, I thought I was the oldest white person there, but then I just didn't care. It was a blast!!

Green Lake/Yates Park

We were trying to find the library one day to make copies. We ended up taking a wrong turn, and ran into Green Lake/Yates Park. I vowed to take the kids back. It looked like so much fun!!

Green Lake/Yates Park is a complex right by the Orchard Park Rec Center. It has a beach front lake entrance with a floating dive platform, a splash pad, a playground, and a snack bar. There is also a baseball field and a skate park in the area.
Kids acting goofy:-)

Fireman's pole!!

4th of July 2011

We start off with one of Noah's new hobbies...catching baby frogs!

Up close shot:

The village 4th of July parade was fun for all of us. I enjoyed watching the kids more than watching the parade though! They thought it was awesome...but probably mostly because they were throwing candy to them! Noah said, "It's sorta like Halloween, but you don't have to dress up or walk a lot. People just throw candy at you!"

We went to the Buffalo Bison's game, a AAA Baseball team, for the summer game, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and fireworks after!

Happy 4th of July!!!!

Eternal Flames

The boys and I set off one day on an adventure hike to find the Eternal Flame Falls. While I was googling things to do in the area, I stumbled across this hike. The eternal flame is actually natural gas, seeping up from a fissure in the rock under a small waterfall.

There were small, blue rectangles nailed to trees every so often marking the path to lead you to the falls and the eternal flame. The trail head markers were a project from a local boy scout group!
It is approximately a mile and a half to the eternal flame and back. It's a pretty easy hike going through the woods, over small creeks, and rocks.
The kids on a "break"...lol...but it looks like they were posing for this picture!
Voila! Here it is...the flame under the small waterfall.
It was actually pretty cool to see:-)
This fallen tree had names tagged all over it. So, of course, I had to tag Elijah and Noah on it!
This turned out to be a very fun and cool adventure for us!
